A minimum of ten graduate-level
credits are required for completion of the regular (one-year
residency) M.Sc. degree. The thesis may count for a maximum
of six of the ten graduate credits. The remaining credits
must include the Graduate Communication Skills course. Additional
courses are determined by consultation between the student
and the student's Supervisory Committee. Students enrolled
in the extended (two-year residency) M.Sc. Program complete
an additional five credits related to their program with
a grade of 70% or higher in each course taken. These additional
credits can be at either the undergraduate or graduate level.
A satisfactory thesis embodying
contributions to independent research must be presented
and defended successfully in a public oral examination.
Students are also required to assist in the teaching of
at least one undergraduate course.
