My current research interests include composting,
bio-reactor design, and development of alternate energy sources
for aquaculture. I played a key role in attracting private industry
funding from Procter & Gamble, Inc to the Nova Scotia Agricultural
College for establishment of a Centre for Compost Technology.
My scholarly activities include writing course texts and upgrading
my environmental and aquaculture knowledge base. I have written
three text books for courses that I teach in the areas of aquaculture
engineering, food processing engineering, and environmental
engineering; a fourth text book is being developed. My professional
development activities have included taking a number of courses
at outside institutions in environmental management and in aquaculture.
