Professor Bill Mathewson Memorial Bursary

Friends of Bill Mathewson were saddened to hear of his passing Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the age of 80. Bill taught for 20 years at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, retiring in 1988 and was honoured by his colleagues by being made Professor Emeritus. Much loved by, students, faculty and the agricultural industry, Bill will be greatly missed. It is with his memory in mind, that Bill’s friends and colleagues at NSAC are launching a bursary in his name.

Because of Bill's own passion for shepherding and for working the land, it is intended that this award will go to an NSAC student who shares Bill's ties to nature and has demonstrated that connection during studies at NSAC and is planning a future in farming. The award is available to a student in the final year of any program,

We invite donations to the Professor Bill Mathewson Memorial Bursary to perpetuate his memory at NSAC. Donations can be made by sending a cheque payable to NSAC (noting it is for this bursary) to the Development Office at Nova Scotia Agricultural College, Box 550 Truro, NS. B2N 5E3 or can be made on-line at http://nsac.ca/donate For more information, contact:
