2001 - 2002
The fiscal year 2001-2002 was one of growth for the
NSAC Foundation.
The formation of the Development and Alumni Relations
Office helped support the working of the Foundation. Staff concentrated
on institutional readiness for future fundraising efforts including:
- Priority was given to efforts to streamline the
preparation of receipts and sending of thank-you letters.
- A donor recognition program was adopted.
- The Alumin and Friends database was improved by
searching for missing members and correcting address problems.
- Special events were supported and enhanced with
preperations made for fundraising components in some cases.
- Communications programs with NSAC alumni and other
friends of NSAC were enhanced.
- Institutional prioriites for fundraising
were determined and published.
- The website was developed and added to throght
the year. It contains an increasing amount of information on giving
to NSAC as well as reports on current projects.
The Financial
Report of the NSAC Foundation shows that the Foundation accounts
had moved ahead by $30,775 income over expenses. This amount is
considerably lower than the previous year because transfer of funds

purposes was $50,350. The total interest earned on investments was
$60,462 while contributions to funds amounted to $37,962. The total
fund balance stood at $1,362,205 at year end.

as Director. Dick Huggard and Sherry Porter were appointed as Directors
filling other vacancies.
The terms of Nancy Crowe and David Martin came to
an end in 2002.. Thanks go to these people for their service to
the Foundation. Staff are actively searching for replacements directors.
