This program has two defined goals for students like you:
1) providing you with the business education needed to operate
and manage a dairy enterprise
2) ensuring that you have
a solid background in dairy husbandry
How
to Apply!
Entrance Requirements:
• High School Graduation Certificate
• Grade 12 Academic English
• Grade 11 Academic Math
• Biology 11 or Chemistry 11 or Agriculture
• Integrated Science 10 or equivalent
• Experience*
*This program concentrates on developing a range of dairy management
skills rather than milking expertise, so our students are required to already have basic dairy experience when entering the program. Students will be required
to demonstrate basic competency in the care and handling
of dairy animals, so in addition to your application, we require a little background
information from you regarding your dairy industry experience. This form can be found at the link below.
Dairy Competency Form
Please complete the first page yourself and have the second page filled out by someone who can evaluate your experience in the care and handling of dairy cattle (i.e: employer, veterinarian, 4-H leader, etc.), then return this form with your NSAC application to:
Office of the Registrar
Nova Scotia Agricultural College
P.O.Box 550
Truro, Nova Scotia
Canada B2N 5E3
After the Registry has received the attached competency form, your application will be processed and you'll receive a letter indicating whether or not you have been accepted into the program. If you are accepted, you will receive further information about the program later in the spring.
If you have questions please feel free to contact Gillian Fraser at gfraser@nsac.ca or (902)893-6024.
