to graduate. There is no fee for an application submitted

To help you remember your password for WebAdvisor,
you are asked to enter a password hint when first logging
on to WebAdvisor. This hint will be offered to you should
you forget your password in the future.
If you have tried this method and still cannot remember
your password please contact the Registry office and we
will provide you with a new password. In order to verify
who is calling, you will be asked for identification before
your new password is given to you. You can reach the Registry
at 1.888.700.6722.
I received my Schedule
1 for my Canada Student Loan. When can I get it signed and
collect the funds?
On your Schedule 1 form you will find a Disbursement Date,
and this will indicate when your student loan funds can
be released to you. In most cases, this date is September
1. Any time after this date you can bring your Schedule
1 form to NSAC's Financial Services Department, located
on the second floor of Cumming Hall, where it will be signed
and given back to you. By signing this form we are confirming
your attendance as a full-time student and indicating your
projected costs. You will then take your signed form to
a designated Canada Post Outlet to continue negotiation
of your loan. Canada Student Loan will release your loan to NSAC
to cover tuition, residence fees, etc. The remainder of
the loan is deposited directly into your bank account.
Am I allowed to take a course
at another university while I'm attending NSAC?
NSAC students are able to take courses at other universities
and colleges and transfer those credits to their program
at NSAC. You are required to complete a Letter
of Permission to guarantee that the course you take
at another institution will be credited to your NSAC program.
For international study, you must complete an International
Study Letter of Permission.
What happens if I'm placed
on Academic Probation?
Academic probation is assessed each term. Students
are placed on Academic Probation if they take two or more
courses and:
- have a sessional average less than 50%
- have failed 50% or more of their courses (including Drop
Fails)
- their cumulative average is less than 60% (less than 55%
for Technical students)
Students on Academic Probation need to work with their
advisors to ensure that they have a plan in place to assist
them in improving their academic performance. Students on
probation are limited to a maximum workload of 5 credit
courses for degree students and 6 credit courses for technical
students.
Students will not be removed from Academic Probation until
their cumulative average is at least 60% (at least 55% for
Technical students).
How do I drop a course? What
are the consequences for dropping courses?
You can change or drop courses using your WebAdvisor
account. No Program students must request to drop courses
at the Registry. The last date to drop a course without
academic penalty is the Friday of the seventh week of classes.
Should you choose to drop a course after this point, a grade
of Drop Fail is assigned to your course. A Drop Fail course
is counted as a failed subject when determining student
standings. To Drop Fail a course you must complete a Drop
Fail Request Form and submit it to the Registry. The
last day to Drop Fail a course is the Friday of the 11th
week of classes. After this point, the mark earned will
be entered on the record, regardless of whether or not the
examination is written.
Please take note of the refund policy for dropped courses,
found in the listing of Important
Dates.
