THINGS TO BRING
Remember your room will be your home away from home for eight
months. Your room will look very sparse when you first arrive,
but will quickly warm up and take on "your look" as
you move your things in.
The list below suggests items that will make your stay more
comfortable. Remember, it may be easier to buy some items after
you arrive.
**** ALL UNIVERSITY DOCUMENTS ***
- Key Chain
- Towels, Face Cloths
- Clothes Hangers
- Extra Blanket (Comforter/Sleeping Bag)
- Clock/Alarm (Battery operation good idea)
- Identification (Liquor ID, Health card, Blue Cross, SIN,
Driver's
License, Birth Certificate, Bank Book, Cheque Book, etc.)
- Medication (register with Health Services)
- Calendar
- School supplies
- Soap, Detergent, Shampoo, etc.
- Laundry Basket/Bag
- Flashlight and batteries
- Computer, phone, TV, DVD ( services supplied to wall
outlet, students must bring all necessary cords for connectivity)
- Family Photos
- Bathing suit (for Scotia Pool)
- Foam (egg crate) mattress pad
- Fridge (no larger then 3 cubic feet).
- Memo Board (the kind that wipes off - to hang on your
door).
- Plate, Bowl, Mugs, Glasses, Knife, Spoon, Fork, etc.
(For snacking between & after meals).
- Addresses of Friends, Relatives, etc.
- Writing Paper, Envelopes, Stamps
- Playing Cards, Crib Board, Board Games
- Sticky Tack ( putty) or Command Adhesive Poster Strips
for hanging posters _ NO TAPE ALLOWED
- Posters
- Favourite Stuffed Animals(s)
- Stereo and Tapes/CD's (remember to bring headphones,
no sub woofers)
- Reading Material
- Extra Pillow (if you sleep with two)
- Work out cloths and Equipment( Langille Athletic Centre
is just across the street)
- Power Bar (a good quality one with a circuit breaker)
- Musical Instrument (guitar, etc.)
What NOT to bring
- sub woofers
- Electrical appliances
- candles or incense ( no open flame in residence)
- Nails, Tacks or Tape ( for purposes of hanging posters
or decorations)
- Shelving or hooks that require nails, screws etc. to
affix.
