CSI is presently working with several other environmental groups with similar visions. We are working closely with Clean Nova Scotia to make our NSAC campus more sustainable. Clean Nova Scotia has an allotted budget for our campus, and the Clean NS representative leading our campus’s project is Scott MacPhee. This is our campus and it’s up to us to demand the changes required in order for sustainable transportation to become the norm.
CSI is also in communication with the Living Earth Council of Truro. The LEC mandate: “LEC is about creating connections and promoting celebrations across social and cultural groups. Youth engagement and empowerment is also important to us. By making a positive impact on our local environment we seek to spread some solutions to global environmental problems such as climate change. We hope our projects will promote health and well being, local community building and enjoyment of our lives.” One of the sub committees within LEC, Move on Colchester, is working hard with government and the community of Truro to make it easier for sustainable transportation such as biking, car pooling and/or running, to be possible. LEC has other subcommittees such as “Cool Truro”, the Healthy Landscapes group, and the Local Food group.
CSI is also looking forward to communicating with the administration and NSACs new sustainable multi-stakeholder group. Keep your eyes open for new campus changes that this multi-stakeholder group will be initiating!
