Managing Our Rural Enterprises
Why a B.MGT.?
A Bachelor of Management in Rural Enterprise is both more applied
and more general than a B. Com. This program is unique in its
emphasis on rural and small business rather than an orientation
towards large companies.
Careers exist with government agencies and rural enterprises
or be an entrepreneur.
Program Objectives
• Learn and apply basic business principles and critical
thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Appreciate the context of the rural enterprise but also
meet the challenges of the urban enterprise.
Types of Courses
Entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, accounting, strategic
management, economics, political science, research, environmental
studies, etc.
Proposed Entry Requirements
• Grade 12 Academic English (65%+)
• Grade 12 Academic Math (65%)
• Three other grade 12 Academic courses (60%+)
Unique Features
• Internship option with a rural organization.
• International Study tour.
• Focus on case studies and field tours
* The Bachelor of Management in Rural Enterprise is currently
in the development and approval process. Anticipated first entry
is September 2007.
