RESULTS
Hosted by NSAC, the 60th Annual
Spring Meet Woodsmens Competition was held Friday and Saturday
April 21 and 22. Friday’s events were held at Kiwanis
Park , where under very cool conditions, 17 teams from 6 Universities
and Colleges completed 7 of the 19 events. (Singles , doubles
and portage canoeing, packboard races, log burling, log decking,
and pulp pits.) The participants included NSAC, Colby, Finger
Lakes, Unity, University of Maine, and Dartmouth.
Saturday, under much better conditions, the rest of
the events were held at the NSAC Woodlot.
NSAC RESULTS:
NSAC Mens 1 and NSAC Women’s 1 both placing first;
NSAC Women’s 2 team were second , while the Men’s
2 team finished 5th.
First place events for NSAC included:
NSAC Women’s 1 - cross cut, pole climb, pulp pits, single
buck, standing block chop, swede saw ,underhand chop, log burling,
crosscut to hell, packboard relay, and super swede
NSAC Women’s 2 – log decking, quarter split
NSAC Men’s 1 – cross cut, pole climb, pulp pits,
quarter split, single buck, log burling, cross cut to hell
NSAC Men’s 2 – log decking
Congratulations to Coaches Marvin Weeks, Shaun Nelson, Scott
Read and Trevor Dillman for the successful 60th Annual Woodsmen
Spring Meet.
