Program Overview
Whether you want to teach technology or spend your career working
with the latest technology developments, this program will be
a great fit.
The Bachelor of Technology
in Applied Science is a four-year degree primarily designed
as a foundation degree for students who want to become technology
education teachers in the secondary school system. If you’re
not interested in teaching, this program also prepares you for
a career working in many different areas and experiencing first-hand
the development of technology.
The first degree of its kind in Eastern Canada, flexibility
is the key to this innovative program. It gives you a hands-on
applied science degree with a curriculum that includes lab work
and group projects. Once you finish this program, you can apply
for direct admission into Acadia’s
Bachelor of Education Degree in Technology Education. If
you don’t want to teach, this program provides you the
flexibility to focus on your own technology areas of interest.
Or, if you decide you want to get working sooner, you can end
your studies after Year Two and graduate with an Engineering
Technology Diploma.
The true value of this program is that you learn about technology
hands-on. You roll up your sleeves and jump into lab work and
group projects. Your instructors are not only active researchers
but also teach technoloy.
