Alumni Family Bursary Phone Campaign

A phone campaign to raise money for NSAC's newest bursary, the Alumni Family Bursary, took place from March 9th through 12th.

The bursary, which was first awarded this past fall to 13 students, supports students who are directly related to alumni.  Over 30 students identified family relations on their application forms this year.  Recipients were based on number and kind of family connections, other scholarships/bursaries received by students, as well as marks.

Money from the Second Century Endowment was used to help support the bursary this year.  However, more money is needed to sustain the fund and keep-up with the increasing number of eligible students.

Eight NSAC students, some who had even received the Alumni Family Bursary, took over the Development & External Relations Office over the four nights.  The students used the office to call previous donors, raising over $12,000 in pledges.

A big thank-you to those who took the time to speak with our students regarding the bursary!

We also extend sincere thanks to those who supported the bursary.  Your support will help relieve financial burdens for our students and their families.

Your pledges are very important to us, please do not forget to fulfill your pledges.

If you did not have the opportunity to support the Alumni Family Bursary and would like to, contact Alisha Hannam at (902) 893-6022 or ahannam@nsac.ca
