Graduate student Gillian Fraser explores alternatives to antibiotic use in livestock production. Today’s consumer is becoming increasingly more aware of the “from the farm to your plate” process. NSAC Strategic Planning

As most of you are aware, NSAC has embarked on a new phase of consultation as we develop our 2008 - 2013 strategic plan, and we need our alumni to help with this. Strategic planning is essential for the continued growth and success of NSAC. It engages our entire community, both internal and external, in active dialogue about our key issues, priorities and opportunities. The ultimate goal of the strategic planning process is the development of a common vision, helping us focus our collective efforts on a select number of strategic priorities over the next five years as we work towards the realization of NSAC's potential.

Please provide feedback by sending an e-mail directly to our Strategic Planning Facilitator, Mr. Wayne Paquet, at wpaquet@nsac.ca. Here are some questions we would ask you to consider:

1. What should our NSAC academic vision be - what should our full slate of programs look like?

2. a) What do you see as our current areas of teaching and research strength?
b) What new areas should we move into as an institution?

3. What are the most important areas of contribution for NSAC in our local community?

4. Are there other institutional challenges that should be addressed in the 2008-2013 Strategic Plan?

Thank you for your input.
