Leanne French-Munn names to Enrolment Management Position

Leanne French-Munn, has accepted the position of Director, Enrolment Management at NSAC effective
December 2, 2005.

The enrolment management program at NSAC supports and serves the vision of the university as a student-learner centered institution, dedicated to the enhancement of student success, enrolment growth and institutional visibility.

“Enrolment management at NSAC is really about implementing an integrated approach to maximizing student success,” said French-Munn. “Our focus is on students - from the time of initial inquiry through graduation and post-graduation; we are focusing on our entire student body.”

Leanne brings 12 years of experience in student services and affairs, enrolment management and institutional planning to the position, gained at three institutions including St. FX, University of Guelph and the University of New Brunswick where she earned her Masters degree in Education.

Leanne sees the position as an opportunity to increase enrolment and retention for the university, as well as to “create a seamless transition from the time students inquire about NSAC all the way through enrolment and beyond graduation.”

The Director of Enrolment Management is responsible for developing and implementing a campus-wide, team-based approach to the development, implementation and monitoring of a strategic enrolment program at NSAC. Strategic enrolment management is a comprehensive process designed to help an institution achieve and maintain the optimum recruitment, retention and graduation rates of students, where optimum is defined within the academic context of the institution. As such, strategic enrolment management is an institution-wide process that embraces virtually every aspect of an institution’s function and culture.

Much has been accomplished since the enrolment management philosophy was adopted within the university in 2003. Specifically, addressing the most important aspects of students concerns about their experience at NSAC, new academic programming and a variety of new university wide strategic initiatives that will continue to support enrolment growth and strategic enrolment goals.

Leanne’s focus for the next year will be implementation of the Enrolment Management Plan as the priorities mapped out in this plan represent key strategic issues for NSAC.

“My focus for enrolment management is related to aligning university resources for the purpose of enhancing the quality and diversity of the student body, student learning experiences, student satisfaction, and, as a byproduct, improving student retention and graduation rates of our undergraduate and graduate enrolment.”
