| During the days of March
9th-11th, 2006 the Langille Athletic Centre was host to the
best women's volleyball teams in the country. This was also
the first time that the live play by play statistics were
broadcast live via the web. During these three days the NSAC
webserver served up over 250,000 hits to the Nationals website
and webcast. After each game was played digital photographs
were posted to the site as well which accounted for an additional
70,000 hits. To put this in perspective: in 3 days we logged
close to a months worth of traffic! |

New Poultry building construction well
underway

The steel is beginning to rise on the new poultry
research facility at NSAC. The mild winter has helped with construction
of the estimated $11M project and a completion date of late fall
2006 is now anticipated. When done, this state-of-the art
facility will help NSAC become a world leader in this area
of research. Watch for updates on the website.

2nd Century Endowment Phone Campaign has completed
for 2006
The second year of the 2nd Century Endowment Phone
Campaign has just been completed and can be judged a success. Our
hard working
students attempted to call over 3000 of our alumni in a three week
period to ask for support for the endowment campaign. They
managed to get in touch with about 40% of those people and got
pledges and donations that brought our total for this years' campaign
to $45,200. This can be added to the $530,000 total
for the campaign last year.
Overall, when all pledge are complete, the campaign
will give NSAC an additional $575,000 for its endowed scholarships
and
bursaries and other projects. We hope that figure will increase
even more over time as others commit to the objective of providing
our
students
with long term financial support.
If you have made pledge, please honour it. If
you would like to make a contribution, please contact the Development
Office. (902) 893-6721.
