Rick's Weekend - July 2005
You are invited to come and join us for the weekend
of Friday July 8th to Sunday July 10th, as we camp
at Ponderosa Pines Campground, route#114, Hopewell Cape, NB. This
will be the first anniversary of Rick's untimely passing. We would
like to be together at this time to reminisce and share old times
and make new memories too. Please bring your families with you,
as all ages are welcome. At some point during the weekend we do
plan to visit Rick's grave site. However, there is not a planned
schedule of activities. Just come and relax and plan to have loads
of laughs and fun!
The campground is a full service campground. It has an unsupervised
pool; canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats ($4-5 per hour rental); pool table and
ping pong table in the store with a few older video games; volleyball net; playground;
hiking trails, and lots of trails for riding your bikes around.
They are holding two blocks of sites for us up until June 24, and
then they will be released after that date to the general public.
As there are numerous ATV events on in this area that weekend, please
do not wait to book your sites. We have no idea of the number of
you that are going to be joining us, so maybe we will need even
more sites?? BOOK EARLY!!!!
To book a site, please call Kirk Sutherland at Ponderosa Pines and reserve
with a credit card. Tell him that you are with the group of Rick Russell's Friends.
He said to call in the evening after 7:00pm, as the office staff
are not in yet. 1-800-822-8800 or 1-506-734-3121.
He is reserving a block of $25+tax serviced sites (20 amp electric
and water) #115 to #126, and he has reserved a block of $23+tax
unserviced sites ( not numbered sites located on strawberry trail
both sides laneway). There are 30 amp sites available too $28+tax.
Also, on site is a 1 bedroom chalet, which Steve Watts and Dave Smith are sharing
with their families, and we have booked the 22' trailer on site ($38+tax),and
this is currently available for one of you to book as well. The reserved sites
are those closest to the chalet, which is located on its own private 2 acres
of land at the end of Strawberry Lane.
They have a great website that you should checkout: ponderosapines.ca
They can be reached through the site via email too.
Can you please help us spread the word by telephoning and emailing Rick's friends
ASAP. This event was scheduled to take place this weekend for the past year,
but there was a casual lack of leadership in organizing it, so that is why you
are only hearing about it now.
