There’s Still Time for This Tax Year

The calendar year 2005 is coming to an end and fund raising efforts at NSAC are preparing for the change of taxation years. Contributions made to one of the several NSAC campaigns before the end of the December can be claimed as a deduction for the 2005 tax year.

Currently NSAC has two major campaigns that involve alumni on the go. Our Fall Mail Appeal begins in October and alumni and friends have been responding in a fantastic way. So far this fall we have had over $23,000 in donations come in as a result of that appeal and I’m sure that more of our alumni will respond positively. While most of the donations for the mail appeal are undesignated and go to NSAC’s high priority needs each year, some donors use the Fall Mail Appeal to support their favourite causes such as a particular class fund or scholarship.

The other major campaign that is on-going is our 2nd Century Endowment Campaign. This was kicked off with our students making phone call last February and March and has resulted in almost $395,000 in donations coming in to build our endowments. These funds will support long term causes at NSAC and will help our students for years o come. It is heart warming to know that there is such support for NSAC. Our plan is to continue our calling program this winter so others will have a chance to talk to our students and participate.

If you are considering a gift to NSAC for this tax year through any of our campaigns, please remember the December 31st deadline.
