Alumni E-News is a Centennial project aimed at keeping alumni up-to-date with news from the university including important announcements, student and alumni achievements, athletic news and upcoming events. You will still receive your alumni magazine, the Agricola News, by mail, free-of-charge. In this monthly, E-newsletter you'll find brief news items and for most, a link to our alumni website for more detailed information.

Calgary Area Alumni Meeting

A first ever, Calgary area meeting was held at the Royal Executive Inns and Suites, Wednesday, June 1. A small but mighty crowd was updated on the latest developments at the NSAC by ED Jim Goit. Jim was also pleased to learn about the activities of some of our membership.

NSAC Open House 2005 - 100 years and Growing!

NSAC will celebrate 100 years of science during its annual open house, to be held Thursday, July 28th from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Young and old alike are invited to return to campus to enjoy Garden Tours, quilts and handicrafts, hands-on science fun, great food and much more. Check back to the website soon for details on this exciting event.

Woodsmen Remember Rick Russell

In what is planned to be an annual event, NSAC woodsmen are organizing a family gathering for woodsmen alumni and friends for July 2005. To be know as "Rick's Weekend", the event will bring together woodsmen from many years (between the 70s through to present day athletes), to celebrate the many skills and memories of Rick's legacy. Information and contact data is included in the attached article from the Weekend Organizers.

Retirement of NSAC Professor John Tait

John Tait retires the end of June after 35 years of teaching. We are sure going to miss him! We are looking for best wishes,stories, pictures etc. from anyone who has been taught by, worked with, or simply knows John and would like to contribute. These will all be arranged into a memory book that will be given to him at the end of June. Centennial Homecoming Weekend Update

Planning is well underway for our Centennial Homecoming weekend. All alumni classes are encouraged to come back to NSAC campus during this all important centennial year with a special invitation extended to honour year classes ending in 0 and 5. Please contact the Alumni Office if you would like some help or ideas on organizing your class reunion. It only takes one person to get the ball rolling. Grand Opening of Centennial Amphitheatre

NSAC will celebrate the grand opening of its Centennial Amphitheatre on Wednesday, June 29th. You and a guest are invited to the magical sunset opening of NSAC's Centennial Amphitheatre. Enjoy live performances, a stunning sunset and a candlelit tour of the amphitheatre's mysterious labyrinth. Wednesday, June 29th at 7 pm NSAC. Beverages and served hors d'oeuvres. 2005 Agri-Golf Classic
Win $100,000 during Centennial Shoot-Out!

The 2005 Agri-Golf Classic will be held on Friday, July 22, 2005 at the Amherst Golf Club. The scramble format tourney is open to all in the agri-food industry including NSAC students, staff and alumni, NSDAF staff, agri-food industry representatives and provincial agricultural departments.

REGISTRATION FEE $450 per team (includes green fees, awards, shirt, a sleeve of balls and a meal). Registration deadline is June 30. (Individual registrations are welcome at $90 each).
