The Canadian Society of Agronomy (CSA) is organizing
the 3rd biennial Workshop for agronomy people to meet to exchange
ideas and research results. The meeting will be run as an "at
cost" event covered by registration fees.
This meeting, aimed at researchers, graduate students, industry
representatives and advisers, will provide a forum for presentation
of new information and discussion on all aspects of agronomic crop
production in the Atlantic Region including;
Crop Production
Crop management practices - conventional and organic
Crop rotations.
Crop fertility
Cropping effects on environment and greenhouse gasses
Cultivar development and evaluation
Soil and water
Pest Management (diseases, insects, nematodes, weeds)
Field experiments and results from long-term / rotation studies.
Interaction of management practices for pest control
Plant and pest bio-diversity and changes in cropping systems
Management and control of individual pest species and weeds.
Invited guest speakers will give lead presentations on selected
areas subjects. The organisers invite offers of spoken and poster
presentations. Approximately 35 oral papers related to the session
topics can be accommodated. The papers are to be 12 minutes in length
plus a 3 minute period for questions. Volunteer papers will be assigned
to appropriate session topic and offers that cannot be accommodated
in the oral sessions will be allotted space for a poster presentation.
Abstracts of all papers/posters will be published in a volume of
Canadian Journal of Plant Science. A prize will be offered for the
best paper and poster presented by a graduate student. Authors must
indicate on the form whether the paper or poster is intended for
the graduate student competition.

The abstracts must be in a ready-to-print format
and authors are asked to include a title, not to exceed 12 words,
followed by the name(s) and the affiliation of the authors. An asterisk
should identify the presenter. The title and author(s) should be
followed by an abstract of no more than 150 words. The abstract
is to be a single paragraph containing a brief description of research
done and an informative summary of significant findings. On a line
after the abstract, submit Key Words: (in bold) of up to five appropriate
key words. The e-mail address of the corresponding author is to
appear at the end of the abstract. For a sample of the abstract
