If you are an agricultural professional, scientist, rural community activist, farmer, consultant, student or are simply interested in agricultural or rural life, join us this spring for the new Atlantic Agricultural Forum (formerly the Atlantic Agriculture Science and Technology Workshop.)
The results of a recent survey conducted by the planning committee strongly indicated that the industry was looking for an opportunity to share information about new technologies, and learn how to be more effective in communicating within the research and extension communities, the general public and those educating future industry leaders.
The Forum will aim to connect all players in the agriculture industry, provide a forum for learning and innovation, and foster renewal, ideas, growth and partnerships. Key content areas will be sharing new technologies and research, discussing new extension methods, learning improved ways to communicate with farmers and consumers, and increasing awareness of food quality, safety, and traceability issues.
- Specifically, participants can anticipate: gaining awareness and information from individuals involved in research and knowledge transfer activities related to new technologies for environmentally-friendly sustainable agriculture and higher efficiency agri-food production.
- avenues to explore enhanced communication, co-operation and collaboration across the region among those involved in agriculture and rural development gaining awareness of new agricultural sciences and technology that could be utilized to facilitate agricultural research, education and extension services in Atlantic Canada
